What do you do with a story that is good, good enough ot maybe publish, but you're not sure where to send it? It's not regular fiction, and it's not fantasy... but I would like to see it in print.

This entry in Neil Gaiman's blog makes me feel better about my life/mind as a writer. Even the professionals don't know where they're going all the time. Heh.

You know you're a nutty writer/researcher when you need to give your character a house in Edinburgh, but you're not sure what it would like... and then you think "Oh, I'll just google Edinburgh estate agent!"

In my last post I mentioned that a prof of mind said he would look at some of my poems and reccomend lit mags for me to submit them to. Help finding? Reccomendations? Narf?
Edit: ie "help me decide on which poems to show to him, as I have a lot and Im only going toshow him 5 or so"

1. from libraries: someone set fire to a small public library. This is stupid and spiteful and makes me angry. when creating a character, whether for an RPG, LARP, MUSH, or for a novel, you can't just Athena them - springing into the narrative fully formed and full grown. People are shaped byy their childhoods, whether they remember them or not. Characters should be, too. Alright. I know I'm not really writing much anymore - and most of my straight fantasy feels sort of stale and/or cliched to me. Still, I find that when I'm in class, esp my "Women in Medieval England" class, I'm constantly filing info away for when I write.
